Cultural Narrative:

L/.Cpl. Cyril.F. Baggs, Royal Engineers (formerly South Wales Borders), 1918. He was initially stationed at Qantara in Ismilia (Suez). Also initially, he was L/Cpl in South Wales Borders and after that Royal Engineers (Transportation Branch). Probably joined up very early in the conflict – he has 4 different military numbers, beginning with Rifle Brigade, and then RAMC in 1915 and discharged in 1916. He signed up again in 1917 with SW Borders and RE in 1918. According to his war diary, he seems to have been admitted to the hospital again to be shipped home ahead of the other troops.
