Colour postcard entitled 'Karnakes Colonnades' and showing the forecourt of the temple inlcuding the column of Taharqa and standing statue of Ramesses II. The restoration stela is also visible next to Ramesses II. A Decauville railway line can be seen running from the hypostyle hall toward the west. The hall of columns has bracing showing that the image must have been taken after 1899 following the ingress of water into the temple. On reverse divided and printed 'Ephtimios Freres, Port Said' (56108). Union Postale Universelle Egypte Carte Postale. No stamp but addressed to Miss Millett, Shawford House, Bechington, Nr. Bath England'. and written ' Bangalore13:1:15 Dear Lil, Just a P.P.C. foryoru collection I hope you will like I have got several more I am going to send on to you. Ever yours Les.' The card was evidently sent form India, presumably having been bought at Port Said as the writer's ship passed through the Suez Canal.
